An Interview w/ James Hardy, Director of Basketball Strength and Conditioning, University of Colorado
A common question we’re hit with from high school basketball coaches is, “Should basketball players lift weights?”
It’s a fairly common question, and for good reason.
The conventional wisdom suggests that if your athletes lift weights they’ll get big and muscular, lose their ability to shoot a basketball and move around the court like a caveman.
But the truth is that’s a flawed way of thinking.
In order to debunk this common myth we brought in James Hardy, director of Strength and Conditioning for the Mens Basketball program at the University of Colorado (and coach Hardy was nice enough to give away 20 weeks of a beginner strength and conditioning program! In this thirty minute interview you’ll learn:
- Where this misconception came from (hint: it’s another sport at your school)
- The proper way to implement a strength and conditioning program for your athletes
- A better way to develop quick and explosive basketball players
- How to get your athletes to buy in to their strength program
- Actionable tips to implement TODAY
